If you have received a New Jersey Traffic Ticket you may be subject to Points on your driver's license.  To find out how many points you may be subject to receiving for any particular offense consult the chart below.

Insurance Surcharges result from the accumulation of more than six Insurance points.  These are assessed as follows.  One Insurance Point for each Motor Vehicle Ticket Point accumulated.  If you cannot obtain Insurance through regular insurance companies you are relegated to the NJ PAIP Insurance market.

Q.: What are the ramifications of accumulating motor vehicle points?

A.: First off, losing your driver's privileges. If you accumulate 12 or more points, the Division of Motor Vehicles will suspend your driving privileges for at least thirty (30) days if not more.
